IOS 11 can automatically delete apps to save space

Free space is a perennial
problem on many iPhones —
especially those saddled
with just 16GB of storage.
To help address the
problem in the upcoming iOS 11, Apple has introduced a few new tools
for managing user data,
including the option to
automatically delete the
apps you never use. On iOS 11 the feature is
called Offload Unused
Apps. You can read a

  • detailed breakdown of how

it works here, but the gist of it is this: when storage is
running low, the Offload
feature removes little-used
apps, but keeps their
documents and data on your
device. The deleted apps appear as greyed-out icons
on the homescreen, and can
be re-installed with a tap.
When activated (on the
iPhone go to Settings >
General > iPhone Storage) the feature works
automatically in the
background, but users can
also choose to offload
individual apps of their
choosing.

Mozilla Firefox Parts Ways With Windows XP, Vista (Read More)

Users of Mozilla Firefox on Windows Vista and below will no longer get support nor software updates from the browser’s parent company, Mozilla. The development will be effected from April 2017, Mozilla says. According to a statement by the company on Tuesday, Firefox is one of the only browsers to offer any support for Windows XP and Vista.
“Microsoft itself ended support for Windows XP in 2014 and will end support for Windows Vista in 2017. Unsupported operating systems receive no security updates, have known exploits, and can be dangerous to use, which makes it difficult to maintain Firefox on those versions. Firefox security updates for XP and Vista users will continue until September 2017, although new features will not be offered.” After April 2017, users can still browse with Mozilla Firefox on XP and Vista albeit with an outdated version of the browser.

LG Electronics is the first electronic brand in Nigeria to offer a decade-long warranty of reliability on a large array of its product offerings. The 10 year warranty offering covers only specific parts of the selected products from the date of purchase.”

LG Door in Door and Side by side refrigerator utilizes LG’s revolutionary Inverter Linear Compressor which enables the refrigerator to consume 32 percent less energy and produce 25 percent less noise.

Employing a linear piston drive instead of a conventional reciprocating drive, LG’s advanced Inverter Linear Compressor generates less internal friction than other compressor systems.

The reduction in friction results in lower energy requirements, less noise production, as well as greater reliability and durability for the compressor.

The Inverter Linear Compressor creates an optimal temperature balance inside the refrigerator, helping to extend the amount of time that food stays fresh.

In a test conducted by the German scientific and technical association,
Verband der Elektrotechnik Elektronik Informationstechnik (VDE), the Inverter Linear Compressor was found to have an estimated lifespan of 20 years.

The Top mount refrigerator uses Smart Inverter Compressor for cooling; this type of compressor uses an inverter drive to control the compressor motor speed to modulate cooling capacity. LG Inverter Compressor responses to variable load conditions by adjusting cooling power for better energy efficiency saving up to 36 percent energy and 37.8 percent less noise. An inverter module is embedded inside the motor which optimizes its voltage & frequency and is possible to operate motor efficiently in turn provides precise control during time of washing. With 6 Motion technology all your cloth types either cotton, wool, silk, denim so on are being careful washed because the washing machine will wash your cloths according to its textile type.

Amazing!!!! Facebook Has Finally Open A Market Place Where You Can Buy And Sell

Facebook has gone beyond just a social media where you chat and interact with like minded people but now, it has launched its own online market place where you can buy and sell any item to people within your community.

According to Facebook Project Manager Bowen Pan, up to 450 million people already use Facebook to buy and sell used goods every month, mainly through its groups feature.

With Marketplace, Facebook is now giving users a more formal process to conduct these exchanges.
Facebook Market place is a destination for people to find—and make offers for—items directly through Facebook’s mobile app. A button for Marketplace will replace the Messenger icon in the bottom center of the app.
In other words, what you can do on Jiji OLX etc you can now do on Facebook market place.
But it’s important to note that in terms of safety and financial security, Facebook does not have the same kinds of protections or guarantees as eBay. All sales are handled offline and by users themselves.

How Do I Sell Items on Facebook Market Place?
1. Take a photo of your item, or add it from your camera roll
2. Enter a product name, description and price
3. Confirm your location and select a category
4. Post
Marketplace will be rolling out to everyone over 18 years old in the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand on the Facebook app for iPhone and Android.
Subsequently, it will be expanded to other countries of the world.

Did You Know That Smart Phone Can Help You Locate Your Missing Kids. [FIND NOW]

The contemporary world has been taken over by technology and previously impossible things can now be a reality. These are certain uses of your smart phone technology that you may not have known about.

Technology has made it possible for parents to track the movement of their children. This can prevent the children from getting lost or find them, if they are missing.
Below are some useful features for this purpose:

1. Lassy Project
The goal of Lassy Project, according to www.parents.com, is to minimize the amount of time it takes to send out an alert that your child has gone missing. Unlike the Amber Alert, Lassy Project provides an image of the missing child and a real time map showing the coordinates of the child’s last known location. It works in seconds, not hours, and only alerts relevant people in the immediate area (the app is free on iPhone, iPad, Android).

2. Find my kids – footprints
Using the GPS in real time, this app helps you keep track of and automatically locate where your child goes with his phone. For instance, if he is travelling alone, you can confirm that he has arrived at a specific destination, or if he is meeting up with friends, they can confirm each other’s locations.
Location information is never shared with anyone else beyond those who have permission to see it, and the data is saved for a later review.
Even though the app is free, parents will need a subscription for the tracking feature. Download is free but the service requires a monthly fee on iPhone and iPad.

3. Missing child alerts
Missing child alerts mobile app can be found on Google Play Store. It helps notify and rapidly spread the word through social media when a child goes missing.
*Simply download the app and choose your state – that is it! You will automatically receive updates when a new child goes missing in your state.
*Click the “Settings” tab to change your state.

4. Sygic family
Sygic family keeps your family safe by allowing you to check the real-time location and the battery levels of your family members’ smart phones. You can also track your children’s whereabouts, or have them checked periodically to let you know where they are and if they have arrived at their destinations safely.

The app also has an in-built messaging system, which lets you send messages for free over an Internet connection. You can also set ‘Safe or Unsafe zones’ – a notification will be sent to you when they enter or leave these zones. There is also an SOS button available in this app, which lets you send out your exact location at the touch of a button.

5. Life 360
Life 360 has the GPS locations of your family members via their smartphones, a panic button, and alerts when someone enters a preset zone (for instance, gets home). It also lets you check where they have been (location history); where to get help in an emergency (hospitals, police stations), and allows you to have group chats.
Google Latitude is less of an app but more of a tracking tool. It allows you to see where your family members are on a map. To use it, go to Google Latitude and start adding your family members via their Gmail contacts. When they accept, you can see their locations on Google Map on your phone.

Their locations will be at the background even when the app is closed or when your smart phone is locked. The app is not restricted to family members; you can use it to check just about anyone’s whereabouts, provided they are on Google Latitude.

7. Mobile Kids
This is a monitoring device that sends parents alerts when kids have been using their mobile phones in the middle of the night; when they add a new unrecognized contact, or when they download a new app.

Parents will also get statistics about their children’s mobile usage, which they can use to set usage limits (premium account).

There is still the much sought-after location feature, with a slight twist. With the SOS button and Check-in feature, the child can request their parents to track their movement live via the GPS tracking, something like remotely ‘walking’ them to their destination.

WhatsApp 4 Major Updates You’ll Love With Image Drawing

These are some of the major updates we’ve been waiting for from WhatsApp IM for a very long time which could be worrisome to Snapchat despite the facts that they declined Facebook offer of $3 billion acquisition offer in 2013.
A lot of features have been introduced to WhatsApp which includes:-
>>Front Facing Flash and One Finger Video Zoom: When taking a selfie within the IM, the screen will light up white to brighten your environment.
Even though you are in the dark, you’ll be able to take a selfie within WhatsApp messenger.
And when you’re holding the record button to capture a video, you just need to slide your finger up and down to zoom. These are amazing features.
>>You Can Now Write Text and Draw on Images:-
When you take a photo with the WhatsApp camera, you will be able to crop the image, edit the image, type text on the image, and even annotate and draw on top of it.

>>Bigger Emoji: Single emojis in messages used to appear the same way as all emojis (see the laughing face with tears in the left screenshot below).
But in 2.16.256, bigger emojis were implemented so that these single ones would appear a little larger (see the same emoji in the middle screenshot)

> You’ll now be able to send multiple chats at once while sharing or forwarding messages. The frequent contacts will appear on top while forwarding or sharing messages.
All these features are live in the latest WhatsApp betas.

10 Android Specifications To Look Out For Before Buying A New Phone (2016)

This is a very important aspect of phone pre- purchase tips. Let it be known to you that its very dangerous not checking out if a phone fits the bill before purchase, this mistake could go a long way to haunt you.
So here’s my advice for you, before buying a phone make sure you've checked for its specifications to ensure they actually comply with what am about to uncover below.

IMPORTANT ANDROID SPECIFICATIONS TO LOOK OUT FOR BEFORE BUYING A NEW PHONE

1. Screen Size/Resolution
This is the size of the device’s screen. It is most likely measured in inches or cm/mm.
Are you a fan of large screen phone, then you should be looking at a device in the range or larger than 5.5/6.0 Inches.
2. Android OS
Make sure it’s running on the most recent version of Android OS. As at the time of this writing, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) should be your minimum target though Lollipop ain’t bad either, just make sure it has OTA update to receive latest Android updates.
3. Camera Pixels (Front & Rear)
We are all about the power of our cameras, taking high definition selfies. So make sure your front facing camera is up to the task, the rear should also be a monster.
You should be looking at a device in the range of-(Minimum: Front=5MP & Rear=8MP) If you so love snapping pictures at night then consider buying a phone with dual lead light, going for double lead rear camera light is perfect even though some single lead camera phone could appear brighter.
4. Battery Capacity
In a country like Nigeria with rapid decadence in electricity, it’s very paramount you don’t overlook this.
The capacity of your phone should be nothing less than 4000mAh unless you want to go about carrying a power bank. 3000mAh battery capacity is manageable though.
5. Network Type
This is optional but important if you’re looking to the future of Naija telecommunication providers.
Our mobile network providers can only provide max 3.75G internet speed. Having a device that can power 4G connection is way cooler and a plus considering the fact that it will in future cover for incoming 4G LTE network.
With Ntel about to roll out its 4G connection in selected states , don’t be left behind.
6. Processor Speed
This covers the response behaviour of your phone apps and services.
If you’re the type that enjoys playing high graphics games then you should endeavour to go for a minimum of 1.4GHz. (Hexacore or Octacore).
7. RAM ( READ ACCESS MEMORY)
Don’t hesitate to get a device with minimum of 2GB Ram.
With that, you can run more apps & services at once without experiencing a crash or your phone hanging unnecessarily.
8. Storage Capacity
Internal storage capacity of your phone should be at least 16GB and expandable with SD card. With this you can install more apps plus save more pictures, documents, videos and music.
9. Quick Charging Feature (Flash Charge)
Phones are recently built with ‘Quick Charge’, this features allows you to be able to charge your phone quicker and faster using a ‘Quick Charge’ charger.
In addition to the specs above, your desired Android phone will be much more complete with such feature. I’m really enjoying it here, writing from experience.
10. OTA Update
Why get a device without OTA updates? It can be very frustrating seeing you friend get firmware updates on his/her device and you not getting, don’t make the mistake.
Make sure you confirm that phone will constantly receive updates to firmware, services and functionality before making a purchase.

NCC Fine InnJoo Mobile N4Million For Selling Unapproved Smartphones

I foresaw this one coming and even InnJoo Management had imagined it coming to pass. They knew that the time will come that they’ll be fine, I’m not happy because the fine wasn’t much that was why they responded aptly.
Those of us still bouncing in the euphoria of InnJoo unceremonious swelling battery, it seems the god of the land his finally considering answering your prayers.
Earlier this week, NCC raided the office of InnJoo mobile phone maker in Lagos for selling unauthorized mobile phones to the public and slammed them a fine of N4Million.
According to NCC, the kind of unapproved smartphones InnJoo Mobile sells to the public will hinder network quality. In order words, sub-standard smartphones is not good for the public.
Their office was sealed… but InnJoo responded very fast and paid the N4Million.
A lot of people who are in possession of InnJoo Mobile devices have ranted on InnJoo Mobile Facebook, not having InnJoo accessory here in Nigeria.
InnJoo Halo was a complete deception because a lot of people actually taught it was an MTK device not knowing that InnJoo actually used it to act a movie scene.
It is true that InnJoo had one of the biggest opportunities to take over Nigerian market phone industry but, they missed out on learning, they missed out on changing, and thus they lost the opportunity at hand to make it big in Nigeria.
Not only did they miss the opportunity to earn big money, they lost their chance of survival in Nigeria.
Please, when next you are going to get a device, before you think of InnJoo… think something else.

IOS 10 Release Date, And Eligible Devices (Here Is What You Need To Know)

Apple has just unveiled the iPhone 7 and it proved to be a sensational and controversial update, and among the announcements that were made was the official release date of iOS 10, the newest version of the operating system for iOS devices.
Tomorrow 13th September 2016, a new operating system called iOS 10 will be seeded to your iPhones and iPad across the world offering apple fans access to new features
Eligible iOS devices:-
iOS 10 will be available as a free software update for iPhone 5 and later, all iPad Air and iPad Pro models, iPad 4th generation, iPad mini 2 and later, and iPod touch 6th generation.
Unfortunately, iPhone 4s won’t be getting iOS 10 updates.
Note: If you have been enrolled in Apple’s beta program and have been rocking iOS 10 beta for the past few months, the golden master of iOS 10 should already be rolling to your device.
Also have in mind that certain new iOS 10 features will only be available on select newer devices.
For example, Raise to wake requires and iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, or later the iPhone 5, 5c, as well as iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are not compliant with that feature.

Apple prepares for another rocking show this coming Wednesday.

Apple prepares for another show on Wednesday, should we really focus on product improvements or on seemingly more superficial elements?

You might think that cameras and headphone jacks are deeply important, but searchdata provided by digital marketing company iQuanti to Forbes suggests that the most popular iPhone 7-related search term after "iPhone 7" itself is "iPhone 7 color."

Ooh, will it be a fancy black or some sophisticated shade of blue? Will those sexy designers fool us all by revealing a deep green one?

The late Steve Jobs knew how to excite. He knew not to blind an audience -- or the media -- with science. That's how the former Apple CEO managed to translate an Apple event to channels far beyond tech.

Simplicity, elegance and sheer visual excitement characterized his Apple events. (In addition, we had to put up with U2 once in a while.)

Apple's current CEO, Tim Cook, knows how to execute after the excitement has dissipated, but recent Apple events haven't quite enjoyed the bliss of the rapture.

Real people still want to be excited, rather than informed. They want to feel thingsfirst and think about things eleventh or twelfth.

The challenge for Apple remains the same: move people enough to make them want to be seen with the product.

Consumers want Cupertino to give a good show because it allows us to believe the products will help us to put on a good show too.

This will always remain depressing to purists for whom the technical innards are mental manna.

Bill Gates' Microsoft never grasped this. Samsung has come to get it in recent times. Its gorgeous Galaxy S7 series is evidence.

But still relatively few tune in to a Samsung event.

How can it be that someone could care more about the color of their phone rather than the pixels in the camera or the hours the battery stays alive?
